My work is inspired by geometric shapes and natural elements.
I use blackened steel, sterling silver and various other metals combined with the earthy feel of lava, howlite, and pearl, to realize my creative vision.
About Mary Gioia
I am a native of Seattle Washington, where my shop is located at Equinox Studios. Growing up the youngest of seven children , I learned at a young age how to "make my own fun", learning from my mother and sisters how to sew and make crafts.
In 1992, I was fortunate to discover blacksmithing and the metal arts.
As a co-founder of Seattle's iconic Black Dog Forge, I have been blessed with many challenging and beautiful projects over the years. Custom bed frames, one of a kind home furnishings and drapery hardware to name a few. But, I always find myself drawn back to making jewelry.
